The Signature Bridge much-delayed project is about to miss another deadline of the September 2017, due to a disagreement between two Delhi government departments —Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) and PWD. So, the residents of east Delhi and Trans Delhi Signature City (Tronica City) will have to wait till March 2018 to enjoy hassle-free movement between the above areas and Outer Ring Road leading to NH-1 as well.
The implementing agency DTTDC for the project, claims that The contractors and labourers are refusing to work due to non-payment of dues so why the construction work has been moving at a snail\’s pace since February. DTTDC official said that If we received the money on time, we would have been finished a major portion of the work within given time. DTTDC officials also informed that due to the non-payment, the contractor had refused to place a segment on the pylon, which is the main structure of the bridge, the steel segment has been lying suspended on crane wires from last week, the work resumed on Friday after a portion of the amount was released.
