₹100 crore for Signature Bridge to DTTDC, no further revision allowed in the schedule or cost
₹100 crore had been released by the Delhi government to the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC), the responsible agency for the signature bridge project, on Monday said the Tourism Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam and hope that it will finally be ready by the end of this year. Tourism Minister, has also told the PWD and DTTDC that there would be no further revision in the schedule or cost. According to the PWD, about 90 percent of the work has been completed.
The Bridge over the Yamuna at north-east Delhi\’s Wazirabad to Trans Delhi Signature City (Tronica City), was Proposed by then Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in 2004, supposed to have been completed at the time of Commonwealth Games which was held in October 2010. After that the completion deadline was pushed to 2013. After Thirteen years of announcement and missing multiple deadlines, now the Delhi government is set the target of December 2017 for completion.
The project executing body PWD had said earlier that the project is delaying due to shortage of funds. The agency had demand for ₹100 crore apart from the already sanctioned ₹1,244.1 crore. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Manish Sisodia had approved the additional funds of ₹100 crore for the project, Last week.
