The Signature Bridge, an ambitious project of Delhi Government is yet to see the light of day

The Signature Bridge on wazirabad at River Yamuna, an ambitious project of Delhi Government, is under construction for a decade who will connect northern and eastern part of Delhi is yet to see the light of day Signature bridge announced in 2004 and passed in 2007 by Delhi cabinet this is almost ₹16,00/- crore project. Its steel towers planned with the double height of Qutub minar with the proposal of waterfront development around the bridge. It is expected that it will miss again its 6th deadline of complete the construction.

As per the govt of Delhi the Signature Bridge had obtained clearance by the environmental dept. In 2011 and set the deadline for completion by December 2103. After that the date of completion revised to June 2016 and then to July 2017 however as per the sources the project will be completed up to December 2017. The estimate has been also modified many times, the bridge was proposed in 1997 with the cost of ₹464 crores it announced in 2004 and passed by Delhi cabinet in 2007 with modified cost ₹11,31 crore with the finishing deadline by the Commonwealth Games which were held in the capital in October 2010.in 2015 the cost again revised to ₹15,94 crore.

As per government records the bridge is 675 meter long asymmetrical and cable stayed with two approaches with the easternal approach 1.8 km long to connect the maine bridge with the marginal bund road at khajuri khas. With a flyover and ground level rotary at khajuri khas intersection and the western approach will cover Timarpur, Nehru Vihar and Wazirabad intersection by the flyover on Ring Road. Bridge designed has a bow-shaped steel pylon, with the longest slab without support is expected to be 251-metre-long with LED lights. The bridge will be 600-metre downstream and connect western approach with Outer Ring Road and eastern bank of yamuna river. Mr. Satyender Jain the minister of public work department (PWD) had said in January last year that the bridge will become operational by early 2017. Mr. jain also said that the most of the work f approaches roads and loops was at advanced stage while the piling work of the bridge over Yamuna was proving to be a problem. The bridge will be a gateway to the Tronica City in adjacent Ghaziabad, and also connecting north-east part of the Capital to outer Delhi, will make the boost the property rates in Tronica City Ghaziabad
